How to Operate When PE Cling Film is Heated?

As we all know, exposing food in the refrigerator is not only easy to produce a peculiar smell, but also harmful to human health. Therefore, many people store food in the refrigerator after sealing with cling film. Is the cling film made of toxic plastic? Is plasticizer added?

1. Introduction to PE cling wrap            

The chemical name of PE cling wrap is polyisobutylene. It is a colorless and transparent viscous liquid, which is incompatible with polymer PE. After the PE cling wrap is made, PIB will move and precipitate to the surface of the PE cling wrap, so as to make the film sticky.            

At present, almost all the PE cling wrap sold in our market are polyethylene self-adhesive PE cling film, that is, PE cling films. PE cling film does not need any additives in the production process, such as plasticizer. PE cling film product is a polymer with stable performance, which is usually safe. Although PE cling film is relatively safe, it can not withstand the "hard work" of a microwave oven. Therefore, please avoid heating food covered with cling film.

2. How to operate when heating PE cling film?


When heating oily food, please keep PE cling film and food in isolation, and do not directly touch them. Because when heating food, the edible oil may reach a high temperature, resulting in the tearing of PE cling film and sticking to the food. When heating food, first cover the utensils with PE cling film, and then pierce several small holes on the cling film with toothpick or needle to facilitate water evaporation and prevent the rupture of the cling film due to gas expansion. The maximum heat-resistant temperature marked on the cling film of each brand is different, the maximum difference of which is about 10℃. When the temperature in the microwave is high, it will usually reach about 110 ℃. If you need to heat for a long time, please pay attention to choose the PE cling film with high heat resistance.
